DESI was formed several years ago by a group of Daylily Enthusiasts located in Southwestern Indiana
therefore we came up with the name Daylily Enthusiasts of Southern Indiana. The state of Indiana is in Region 2 of the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS).
We currently have members who also reside in the great commonwealth of Kentucky which is in Region 10 of the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS).
We encourage our members to become members of the AHS and attend Regional meetings.
We also encourage our members to become Garden Judges and/or Show Judges. Some have had their gardens become AHS Display Gardens.
Our primary goal is to promote the Daylily to the public. We do that by inviting anyone to attend our meetings. Some of our meetings we have "Guest" Speakers usually well known Hybridizers who show us how they do their work along with showing us some of their future introductions.
